Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Data penelitian dieroleh melalui tes, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model discovery learning pada sel elektrokimia mampu meningkatkan kemampuan multirepresentasi siswa dari rerata 73,33% dengan kategori baik menjadi 87,17% dengan kategori sangat baik. Kemampuan representasi makroskopik meningkat dari 83,33% menjadi 86,25%, sedangkan representasi simbolik meningkat dari 66,67% menjadi 88,99%, dan representasi submikroskopik meningkat dari 70% menjadi 83,70%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model discovery learning pada materi sel elektrokimia mampu meningkatkan kemampuan multirepresentasi siswa kelas XII MIPA 6 SMA Negeri 1 Yogyakarta tahun pelajaran 2017\/2018.<\/div>\n<p>\n<i>Kata kunci: kemampuan multirepresentasi, discovery learning<\/i><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nTHE IMPLEMENTATION OF DISCOVERY LEARNING TO ENHANCE THE STUDENTS\u2019 MULTI-REPRESENTATION<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nAbstract<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThis research aims to enhance the multi-representation of XII MIPA 6 students in SMA Negeri 1 Yogyakarta academic year 2017\/2018 through the implementation of discovery learning in electrochemistry. This research is a class action research which was performed in two cycles. Every cycle consists of four main steps, which are planning, action, observation and reflection. The data were obtained by performing test, documentation, and interview. The analysis involved qualitative-descriptive technique. The result indicated that the implementation of discovery learning in electrochemistry could enhance students\u2019 multi-representation from 73.33% to 87.17% in average. Students\u2019 macroscopic representation increased from 76.67% to 87.17% in average. Students\u2019 symbolic representation increased from 81.90% to 86.25% in average. And, students\u2019 submicroscopic representation increased from 71.85% to 88.99% in average. In the end of cycle II, the percentage of students who had multi-representation categorized as good and very good was more than 80%.
